I'm here to guide you through every step of your wedding photography experience.

Hi, I'm Brittany

Hello Friend!

Personal

Thank you for stopping by!

I am so excited that you are here. Throughout my blog posts I will be sharing stories of love, some tips and tricks for your wedding day, even styling guides for your next photo session and you may learn a little about me!

I cannot wait to share it all with you!

For Today, A Little About Me!

My name is Brittany and I love photography! I love capturing beautiful moments in life, holding them in time forever.

My journey started in 2008, when I picked up my dad’s camera on the National Seashore Park beach in Cape Cod, MA. The sunset was stunning and colorful, reflecting in the crashing waves; and I just had to try and get a photograph of it!

At this moment…I was hooked! I knew I wanted to capture gorgeous moments like these through a lens.

I then attended an amazing summer program in Brooklyn, New York; School Of Creative And Performing Arts (SOCAPA). This summer program solidified my love of photography! We traveled all around Brooklyn, DUMBO, Time Square, Coney Island and Central Park; learning the ins and outs of photography, both in the digital and film formats. I personally LOVE the dark room.

For those that do not know, a dark room is where photographers take the film out of their camera, develop the film and then print the film onto light sensitive paper. It is called the “dark room” because if light touches the film or paper before it is properly developed, you lose your image. Thankfully you can use a red light, while process your print onto the paper, to see what your are doing.

Did you enjoy your mini lesson? Doesn’t film photography sound awesome!?

Well film photography is awesome! So much so that I decided to go to college and study photography (and we mostly focused on, you guessed it, film!).

I started my schooling at Fitchburg State University in 2009 to dive even deeper into this world of photography. Here I studied under Peter Laytin, whose love and passion for photography shined onto all his students! I definitely owe my love of preserving moments through film to him! He taught us how to see light, how to capture it onto the film and creative ways of printing the images.

My favorite class was using the large format cameras (Have you ever seen a movie based in the 1930s? Do you ever remember seeing someone with a giant camera on a tripod, with a big sheet over there head?) I indeed had to use a large heavy blanket over me to protect the film while shooting! I loved it, the camera is so unique with it’s bellows allowing you to maneuver the camera (both the lens and the film back) in order to capture different angles. (Click Here To Learn More).

Now, let me be real with you…I had no idea what I wanted to do in the photography world after college. Should I do portraits? Editorials? Advertising? Weddings? Sports? I couldn’t choose!

So, I tried a little of everything. Long story short: I interned with a wedding photographer (Rich Hudson of Hudson Photography), worked as the lead photographer at The Adventure Park in Storrs, CT (zip line park, super awesome if you live in the area), a school portrait and dance studio portrait photographer with Donner Photographic Inc (This was one of the most challenging but rewarding jobs, traveling all around New England and even down south to Maryland and Alabama!).

Then in summer of 2019, July 1st to be exact, I started Brittany Graf Photography! (Cue applause!) I finally knew exactly what I wanted to do for myself. I wanted to capture love for others. What do I mean by this? I want to capture the love couples have for each other, the love of a family, the love on a wedding day or even the love of adopting a new pet (because to me pets are family, I know I loved taking photos with my new puppy; trust me you will learn about him soon, stay tuned)!

My true journey begins now! And I cannot wait! I cannot wait to have you follow me on this journey!

I hope to capture the precious and beautiful moments in your life.

Until we meet again, friend!
