I cannot believe Carter is celebrating his first birthday. It seems like only yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital.
What can be cuter than a little boy and Winnie-the-Pooh?!
Of course all I imagined was a Disney themed birthday party for Carter. As a searched through Pinterest for ideas, I came upon ideas for Winnie-the-Pooh! I knew right away that it was the perfect first birthday theme for Carter.
Let’s just say, I was obsessed with Etsy and Amazon for a few months. Look up anything and everything I could for decorations. My favorite finds were a 100 Acre Wood backdrop, Pooh Bear in a box, cupcake toppers, old school Winnie-the-Pooh stuffed animals and a high chair banner. Also, the balloon arch! That was definitely interesting to put together. I give my respect to those that do it for a living, it was not easy. I think a personal favorite memory setting up for the party, blowing up almost 200 balloons in my living room. Balloons of all shapes and sizes were everywhere!
The day before and morning of the party, we had the best help from our loved ones to decorate. My cousin Amy (from 110 Baked) made Carter’s hunny pot smash cake, cake pops, cupcakes andTigger tails. We also had delicious and beautiful cookies from Daisy’s Sweet Obsessions.

As our family and friends came to celebrate Carter’s first birthday, I had to take a step back and take it all in. It was amazing to see so many people love our boy. Carter enjoyed himself, seeing everyone and playing with his cousins. Watching him made me tear up. I couldn’t believe I was looking at a one year old, and not my little baby boy.
It’s amazing to think about the little boy Carter has become. He is such a happy, playful, curious and loving little being. I am truly in awe of him each and every day. I love watching him learn knew things, play with his toys, crawl around everywhere (fast!) and just take in the world around him. It makes me sad to think my little baby boy I brought home is gone. But I am so excited to see the little boy he is becoming.
