Engagements

Jessica and Michael’s engagement session in downtown Mystic captured everything I love about fall by the water.

Their mystic engagement photography session took place on a crisp October afternoon. The air felt cool and comfortable. The light was soft and even. From the start, the session felt relaxed and easy.

We began by walking through downtown Mystic near the waterfront. Right away, the docks and paths gave us beautiful movement. Meanwhile, the water added a classic coastal feel. As we walked, Jessica and Michael talked and laughed nonstop. Because of that, everything felt natural and unforced.

Next, we spent time along the pier near S&P Oyster Co.. The canal and passing boats created a timeless backdrop. At the same time, the Mystic River Bascule Bridge stood in the distance. Together, those elements grounded the session in such an iconic way.

After that, we popped champagne on the pier beside the canal. It was casual and fun. More importantly, it fit the tone of the day perfectly. There was laughter, movement, and no pressure. As a result, the moment felt genuine and light.

Jessica’s jean jacket was one of my favorite details. She wore her soon to be last name across the back. Because of that detail, the session felt even more personal. It photographed beautifully and added meaning without overpowering the look.

As we continued walking, the session stayed conversational and relaxed. Downtown Mystic offered clean lines, waterfront views, and easy transitions between locations. Because everything was close together, the flow never stopped.

Overall, Jessica and Michael’s mystic engagement photography session felt natural and effortless. It focused on movement, connection, and enjoying the space around them. In the end, it was the perfect way to document an October afternoon by the water.
